Like you, we were taught that magic was not real. Stories about fairies and wizards and monsters – those were for little kids. The real world was reasonable. It made sense.

Then, after one single night, nothing made sense anymore.

Read eleven tales of magic and mystery, created by young local writers in a program guided by Story Studio staff and visiting authors from across British Columbia. Participants between the ages of 12 to 16 worked virtually over the course of a summer to design a shared world for their stories to inhabit, with illustrator A.D. Greenlees bringing their words to life.

The map had been redrawn. And we believed in magic again, for we had no choice. Now it was our job to explore the stories of these new people and places, and tell the tales of the Imaginary Islands.
