Story Studio is an award-winning charity that inspires, educates and empowers youth to be powerful storytellers, transforming lives and strengthening communities. Story Studio delivers innovative, ‘fun-first’ workshops that give youth the narrative tools to create amazing stories, using a methodology we’ve developed with over 10,000 youth to date. We currently focus on three primary program streams: preschool ‘StoryBox’ programs; ‘StoryMaker’ workshops for ages 7-12; and online summer and winter programs for teens. Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and organized Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Executive Director and assist staff in delivering engaging programs for youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director, including assisting in writing proposals/reports, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
  • Contribute to social media and website content on Instagram/Facebook, email newsletters, etc.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for events and workshops, such as venue arrangements, workshop materials, and participant registration.
  • Help track program statistics for reporting purposes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the organization, such as answering inquiries and managing supplies

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in administrative support (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (required)
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability (required)
  • Experience in working with Google Docs/Sheets/Drive, etc. (required)
  • Certificate/training in communications (desired)
  • Experience in editing and publishing (desired)
  • Basic graphic design skills with Canva (desired)

Position Summary
Working with other staff, the Program Facilitator will deliver a range of programming to youth (preschool to high school), primarily working with another instructor in local classrooms as part of our StoryMaker and Story Shorts workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and organize materials for workshops 
  • With other staff, facilitate workshops (2-3 full days per week, in-person in locations throughout the region)
  • Type and edit student stories (remote)
  • Assist with book production at our office (in-person)

Qualifications

  •  An undergraduate degree (in progress or completed)
  • Teaching certification and/or teacher training strongly desired (but not required)
  • 2-3 years’ experience educating young audiences (particularly 5-11 years old) (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (required)
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability (required)
  • Experience in working with Google Docs/Sheets/Drive, etc. (required)
