Capital City Comic Con

March 13, 2020 – Important Update from the Event Organizers

It is with great disappointment that we are announcing the postponement of Capital City Comic Con 2020 due to the situation related to COVID-19, or coronavirus.We ask that you please be patient with us as we work to find a new date in 2020. (You can read the organizer’s full statement here.)

As the charity of choice for Capital City Comic Con (at the Victoria Conference Centre), Story Studio is gearing up to make it an incredible weekend! From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, we will have a booth set up for you to visit.

There will be a variety of exciting activities like:

  • a “Create Your Character” activity;
  • one-word stories;
  • a one-hour writing workshop led by our key facilitator, Rebecca Ruiter;
  • photos with Storm Troopers; and
  • and a special opportunity to “shoot a Storm Trooper” by donation to Story Studio! (Our booth is located right next to the 501st Legion, so it’ll be troopers all day, every day. Yay!)

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in working with us to create a unique and engaging presence at Comic Con. If you want to be part of bringing Story Studio to a wider audience — or if you really just want to spend a couple hours hanging out next to Storm Troopers — please get in touch.

(Our special thanks to Monk Office for furnishing our booth with their very cool space-age furniture!)
