Join other young creators for an immersive week of making stories! This isn’t just any camp—it’s a chance to connect with fellow young writers, gain expert guidance from experienced authors and educators, and see your work in print!

Based on 15 years of experience and research, our programs are specifically designed to spark imagination and strengthen writing skills in a fun-first, high-energy environment.

DETAILS

Our “word lab” approach encourages campers to experiment with everything from poetry to screenplays, learning from professional approaches to turn their original ideas into tangible finished works. Every day is a blend of:

  • High-Level Instruction: Learn to write stories using strategies, tips and tricks that the professionals use.

  • Physical Creative Play: Games and activities centered around a shared love of stories and words.

  • Collaborative Fun: A supportive community where every child leaves with a story only they could tell.

From Inspiration to Publication: You’re a Published Author!

Best of all, every participant becomes a published author. At the end of the week, each camper receives a professionally designed class anthology—a beautiful book filled with writing samples from every student in the workshop. It’s a tangible piece of their imagination to share with family and friends and a lifelong reminder of their creative potential.

Logistics: What to Bring & What’s Included

Story Studio Provides:

  • Creative Tools: All writing and art supplies used during the week.
  • The Final Anthology: A bound and printed book featuring each camper’s work.
  • Custom Writer’s Notebook: A dedicated space for drafts, world-building notes, and sketches that campers keep.
  • Expert Mentorship: 35+ hours of guidance from experienced authors and educators.

Parents Provide:

  • A Nut-Free Lunch & Two Snacks: Writing is hungry work! Please pack a hearty lunch plus a morning and afternoon snack to keep “creative fuel” high.
  • A Refillable Water Bottle: Labeled with your child’s name.
  • Adventure-Ready Clothing: We will be doing “Physical Creative Play” both indoors and out, so please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this program. It was by far the best writing program I have ever been in, and was far more involved than most, which I appreciated.
