Story Studio’s Approach to Writing
The Story Studio incorporates a balanced literacy approach to promoting writing. This means we engage in shared writing, model writing and individualized writing. Likewise we incorporate and encourage reading in the lab in order to help foster a deeper grasp of language and its use. The Story Studio encourages participants to work at a level that is comfortable for them, believing that this will give them an appreciation for the craft, and a believe in themselves.

What Class Should They Enrol In?
Workshops are segmented into ages, which often overlap. Writers should choose a group that overlaps with a younger segment if they are not confident, and older if they are. Please feel free to give us a call and we can help place your child!
Story Studio kids can take the same workshop many times as writing traits will become more and more familiar with students with repetition. Students will not find workshops redundant as attention will be quite individual, and different writing traits will be emphasized in different workshops.
